Hello everyone! Today I am going to write about my greatest passion in life: soccer.

When I was little I liked to play soccer with my neighbors, but the normal thing. When I was around 8 years old, my father took me to the Colo Colo soccer school in my city, Melipilla. It was then that I started training more regularly and got used to competing every weekend, as we almost always had tournaments to play. At the same time, I trained every week after school for my school team, where we also had regular championships.

In this context, I forged my passion for Colo Colo and Deportes Melipilla, the team from my city. Later I started watching the European leagues and I became a fan of Manchester United of England.

As time went by, my fanaticism continued to grow. Although the pandemic prevented me from going to the courts, my passion remains intact. Currently my state of mind depends on whether one of these three teams wins, draws or loses. They are the reason for my greatest joys, but also for my bitterest pains.

In fact, I chose to study journalism because I want to work in the sports field, and thus be closer to what I like the most.

Don't think I'm crazy hahaha.

  1. Hi!
I share the feeling a bit, although not for football, but for Handball.
When I was a child I practiced this sport a lot, almost daily, both for my school, and for a club I was in and, like you lol, I went to championships or things like that. Only that at 15 I had to leave it because I changed city and, therefore, I was left without a club and in my school they did not train Handball :(
To this day I have not been able to practice it again, but I would love to play again in the future (hopefully not too distant).
    Have a nice week! <3

  2. haha don't worry, I've heard worse things. I also like soccer and I played defense in my school team, but my favorite sport was always volleyball, by the way i only have one question.
why aren't you a footballer instead of a journalist? I mean, if you have been in a school for so long, I suppose that on more than one occasion you should have been offered such an opportunity.

  3. Hi Vicho!
I share this passion with you. There are many people who do not understand, but this sport generates feelings that cannot be replaced with anything. Unfortunately, the pandemic affected all of us who play sports, but I hope we can play in university next year.
    PD: Aguante la U

  4. HAHAHA Vicho, I'm not a sporty person, but I understand what you feel, people have different passions. In school the only sport I accepted was volleyball, but it was still very hard to play it, my body intelligence is not that good.

  5. Vicho, when I was a child I had a passion for sports when I practiced roller hockey and swimming, but because of my fathers lack of time I couldn't go to lessons anymore and I became a completely sedentary person, to be honest. Anyway, your story reminded me completely of my older brother. He's also studying journalism and is in his second year. Since he was a kid, he's been a fan of soccer, Colo-colo and everything related to it, so his biggest dream is to be working around that topic

  6. I used to love FOOTBALL (it´s football not soccer, only the gringos call like that, naa I'm joking or maybe not haha) too, but my school said that playing football is bad (yes soooo weird). So my parents never signed me up to a club, only when I was old I entered one, but I had already lost the chispa (cries in chilean).

PD: Come on Villareal (just kidding).

  8. Hi Vicente.

Also, I am very soccer fan. In this case, I am Colo Colo fan like you. I am glad that since you were a child you have done what you like. Even more, now that you entered a this career for continuous with your same tastes. Keep it up, you will go far.

  9. Hi Vicente. I don't consider you crazy because this passion is unique, and I am a fan of team ColoColo too. I am from Antofagasta and my love for this team taught to me, my grandfather. When I travel to Santiago I must go to Stadium. I have never forgotten when the stadium was full of 40.000 people. This event was important to me. I support Deportes Antofagasta is the team of the city. I can imagine that you will watch the Champions League final. GO CHELSEA!!

  10. Hello Vicente!
I really enjoyed reading your blog because we share the same passion: soccer and Colo-Colo. How much you miss going to the stadium, don't you? I felt totally identified where you mention that your mood depends on the result of the team, the same thing happens to me hahaha, but as you say: Colo-Colo has been the reason for my greatest joys.
I hope that this year we leave the disastrous last season as a bitter memory and that this year we get back to where El Cacique deserves to be: in first place. And well, I hope that with the help of Mathi Vidangossy, Melipilla will also continue to have a good season (but only up to second place hahaha).
Oh, and last but not least: I also want to develop as a sports journalist :)
    Greetings, Vicente, see you soon!
